It looks like the folks at Qik are good at releasing live streaming apps, and the one they just released is working great on the iPhone 2g ( that's what I use). It has great framerate 7fps at 352x288). I have tried it several times with the edge network since we don't have 3g here at my locale and over wifi. Both work very well.
I would say get the app while it's free. Because I would definitely pay for this app. I like it so far over Ustream since the URL is easier to tweet or send via email/txt message and the quality is very decent for first gen iPhone.
